When I attended the weekend with RMS in Tacoma (ironically in the Masonic Hall), in winter 1995-96, with various others and a large audience, as a 'renegade' wanting to question all conventions, he shared a powerful 'idea' with us all.
When humans die their souls depart the body and begin the journey to another dimension or plane.
RMS recounted the stories from hundreds of cases of near death and return from comas, death experiences, etc. He said that in all cases people remember being 'called' to a distant light, and as they travelled to the light they saw images of beings and structures, and all the while were being called (sometimes quite insistently) to head for the one light. This light was as if through a door.
RMS suggested that one of the reasons why most humans forget their past incarnations is because what happens is that the souls are taken to a chamber where their memories are erased and re-programmed, and as a result they may only have a faint memory of what happened before.
He suggested that the reason for the 'calling' is because what is most important is not to allow the soul to see the other choices available, that there are actually many other paths for the soul to take. The calling is necessary because some do manage to look around and see what else there is. Often the 'calling' is by human figures who resemble loved ones, as if the sum of ones life is through that door and into that specific light.
He suggested that we should all remember this and so when we are called to this light we can do something else. He said that if we turn around and look behind and to each side, we will see other paths, other lights, other options, and just maybe we will keep all our memories by journeying to such other lights and paths. And maybe we can learn the truth behind the great loss of memory of our incarnations, which for so many is only recovered through therapy and hypnosis, or not at all.
He suggested that if we do look around us and see nothing and no other options then simply carry on to the 'one light' that we were being called to before (after all will we be turned away for hesitation?).
Could it be that those who have clear memory of their past lives are ones who chose another way?
Could it be that there are chambers where our energy bodies are manipulated into forgetting?
What if there is another path or even many other paths? What if we can choose any place (including parts of the universe) for our next experience?
What if we can return to this planet fully conscious and be powerful guides for others as we remember exactly what happened before and all the lessons of that previous life, and simply by making clear conscious choice up to the last second of our souls present journey?
